    Two very compelling keynote presentations by Chris Leinberger and Geoff Anderson about the economics of land-use and the demographic drivers of smart growth still has conference go-ers buzzing.

    Rhode Island Planners keep Summit

    ideas moving forward

    The state chapter of the American Planning Association hosts an informal Summit debrief

    Planners and Summit attendees gathered last evening (5.23) at The Salon in downtown Providence. Guest were invited to come and discuss what excited them most - what ideas were most intriguing - and how best to remain focused on implementing these ideas to realize the resulting community and economic benefits.

    Grow Smart will continue to advance ideas and best practices through its website, Facebook page and blog.

    Any interested person is welcome to submit a

  • Program airs Saturday at 1:30 p.m. on Renewable Now with host Peter Arpin

    The Knowledge District, Warwick Station Development District and the East Providence Waterfront District - all game-changer projects for Rhode Island - will be previewed this Saturday on Renewable Now. Guests include Scott Wolf of Grow Smart Rhode Island, Colin Kane of the I-195 Redevelopment Commission, Dan Geagan from the City of Warwick and Jeanne Boyle from the City of East Providence.

    You'll hear about the vision and scope of these community and economic development projects, progress-to-date and remaining hurdles to full implementation.
